There are many ways you can help to raise funds for the Uphill Trust:

Take part in a sponsored event or sponsor a participant

Host a collection tin in your workplace

Hold a fundraiser:

  • Craft sale
  • Good-as-new sale
  • Sale of fruit, vegetables, eggs, honey
  • Clothes swap event
  • Sporting event (golf, curling, tennis, bowls…)
  • Ladies (or gent’s) night
  • Coffee morning/fundraising supper
  • anything else you can think of!

Encourage your workplace, church, school or community groups to support us

If you are involved with an organisation that has a charitable ethos, you might like to recommend the Uphill Trust as a potential recipient charity. We have been delighted to have forged links with schools, churches, community cafes and other groups and the fundraising they do on our behalf is extremely valuable. Some large organisations will even offer to match the fundraising total – which is a fantastic boost.

Invite the Trustees to talk to your group or school

Belinda, Max and Liddy are all happy to speak to local groups or schools about the trust and the work that we do. Please get in touch if you would like us to share our story with your group.

Host a pop-up-shop-in-a-box

The trust has forged a strong relationship with the Woro En Ryeko collective based in the Banda Kireka shanty town in Kampala, which makes paper beads. Beads,  purchased every time the trustees visit Uganda, are fashioned into earrings, necklaces and bracelets by Liddy and are available to buy at local craft fairs and pop-up shops .  All the sale proceeds are donated to the trust. If you would like some Ugandan paper bead jewellery to sell in your workplace, church or community group, please contact Liddy.

Share the story

We are a small charity without a media or advertising department so we rely on our supporters to share the news of our work to their friends, family and colleagues. Please do follow our social media posts, share our newsletters and chat to others about the trust and what we are trying to achieve. It all helps!

100% of your fundraising will be used to support projects at the school. A little of what we have goes a long way in rural Uganda!
